About this directory

How often are listings checked?

Short answer

Every listing on the site was checked in October 2026, and each one shows the month its website was read. We recheck the whole list when we refresh our data, and recheck single listings whenever someone reports a problem. We don't promise a fixed schedule, so the date on each page is the one to trust.

Each listing is a snapshot. It records what a facility’s website said on the day we read it, and it tells you when that was.

The current check

The facilities on this site were gathered from Google Maps listings in October 2026, and every facility’s website was read the same month. That covers all 4,496 listings currently published.

  • Oct 2026Month every current listing was checked
  • 10,359Facility websites read in that check
  • 4,496Listed with a quoted line

Where to find the date

The month a listing was checked appears in three places:

  1. On each facility page, in the proof box under the quoted line.
  2. In the footer of every page on the site.
  3. On the how we verify page.

If that date is old, treat the listing with more caution and confirm with the facility.

When we recheck

The whole list. When we refresh our data, we re-read every facility’s website and rebuild the site from scratch. Listings whose sites no longer mention climate control drop off, new ones are added, and the date changes everywhere.

A single listing. If you report that a listing is wrong, or a facility asks to be added, we recheck that one site. We don’t promise a turnaround time.

We don’t publish a fixed schedule because we’d rather show you the real date than an intended one.

Why a checked listing can still be out of date

  • Facilities change. A building can be converted, sold or renamed.
  • Websites lag. A facility might stop offering climate-controlled units before updating its site, or start before it adds the wording.
  • Pages move. A redesigned site can break the page we read.

That’s why each listing quotes the facility’s words and shows the date, rather than just a checkmark.

How to help keep it accurate

If something on a listing is wrong, use the listing form, or the “Ask a question” button on the storage questions page. Tell us the facility and what’s changed.

Before you rent anywhere, confirm climate control with the facility directly. Our questions to ask before renting will help. To see a recent listing, open any facility in Phoenix.
